Federico Barocci 1535 – 1612 

Federico Barocci was an Italian Renaissance painter and printmaker. His original name was Federico Fiori, and he was nicknamed Il Baroccio. His work was highly esteemed and influential, and foreshadows the Baroque of Rubens.

Francois Boucher1703-1770

François Boucher was born in Paris, France. He was a painter, engraver, and designer whose works are
regarded as the perfect expression of French taste in the Rococo period.
Boucher first won fame with his sensuous and light-hearted mythological paintings and pastoral
landscapes. He executed important decorative commissions for the queen at Versailles and for his friend
and patron, Mme de Pompadour, at Versailles, Marly, and Bellevue. He became a member of the Royal
Academy in 1734. In 1765 he became director of the Royal Academy and held the title of first painter to
King Louis XV. His work was characterized by the use of delicate colors, gently modeled forms, facile
technique, and light-hearted subject matter. Boucher is generally acclaimed as one of the great draftsmen
of the 18th century.
Description: The subject Oil on Canvas is an attractive classic style with great detail within the canvas.
Boucher original art is getting harder to find and has steadily increased in value over the last decade. In
this scene, a woman drops a bucket into the pond below for water while her dog is seen playing on the
tree log. It is signed with a B however the signature is very light and difficult to see.
Measures: 28.5” x 35”
Condition: The painting shows normal age related issues and could benefit with a professional
conservation restoration and stretch procedure. Conservation will enhance the colors and signature that
age buildup, which is normal, causes. The painting is in what seems to be the original frame.
Valuation: Outside professionals were brought in to validate the authenticity of the collection and
subject matter, including the Pall Mall Art Advisors as well as certified appraisers Milton Talbert and
Paul Rossi. It is determined that the signature is that of the artist and this piece is a François Boucher
original. Based on past comparable sales from Christies New York and Sothebys, the current valuation
is $1,700,000.

George Luks1867 - 1933

George Benjamin Luks was an American realist artist, painter, comics artist and illustrator. His vigorously
painted genre paintings of urban subjects are examples of the Ashcan School of American art.

Guido Reni1575 – 1642 “Mary Magdalin”


Guido Reni was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, although his works showed a classical manner,
similar to Simon Vouet, Nicholas Poussin and Philippe de Champaigne. He painted primarily religious works,
but also mythological and allegorical subjects.

Jean Antoine Watteau 1684 - 1721

Jean-Antoine Watteau, better known as Antoine Watteau, was a French painter whose brief career spurred the
revival of interest in colour and movement, as seen in the tradition of Correggio and Rubens.

John Frederick Lewis 1804-1876

John Frederick Lewis RA was an English Orientalist painter. He specialized in Oriental and Mediterranean
scenes in detailed watercolor or oils. In 1840 he traveled Italy, Greece and Turkey, to Cairo, where he
remained until circa 1850. Lewis made nearly six hundred watercolors and drawings throughout the decade.
These works, together with the Oriental costumes and artifacts he collected, became the foundation of his
paintings of desert encampments, harem interiors and mosques.

Rembrandt Peale 1778 - 1860 “Kate Tyrell Portrait”

 

Rembrandt Peale was an American artist and museum keeper. A prolific portrait painter, he was especially
acclaimed for his likenesses of presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Peale's style was
influenced by French Neoclassicism after a stay in Paris in his early thirties.

attached typewritten description on the story of the sitter, date of this description unknown.

Salvador Dalí1904 - 1989Untitled

Salvador Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work.

and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. To the dismay of those who held his work in
high regard, and to the irritation of his critics, his eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions
sometimes drew more attention than his artwork.
